What is dog daycare at Cape Cod Pet Resort?

Our mission is to provide your dog with a safe and healthy play environment to enrich their spirit and increase their social skills, offer an off-leash area to exercise their body and give hours of play to stimulate their mind.  Supervised by caring staff members, our daycare offers an educational alternative to being left home alone, with exercise, socialization and opportunities to learn new skills, while interacting with other dogs.

What is the Value of daycare at Cape Cod Pet Resort for your dog?
  • Off-leash play
  • Lots of exercise
  • Burning off energy (for a calmer, mellower dog)
  • Socialization: Interacting with a variety of dogs of different sizes, breeds, personalities, drives, ages, situations, environments and circumstances.
  • Development of canine and human relationships over time and maturity from long-term repeated visits.
  • Mind stimulation
  • Safe and healthy environment
  • Manners with dogs and humans
  • Basic training skills
  • Development and management of impulse control
  • Skills acquisition in many different environments
  • Enhancement of relationship with your dog due to physical and mental needs being met playing with doggie friends in other environments.
Drop In and Play

At Cape Cod Pet Resort we provide the best environment for your dog to socialize and feel safe.  Our playful environment is a result of dogs getting to know each other during repeated visits.  This occurs by reducing the stress of meeting new and unfamiliar dogs every day, no different from the increased comfort level you feel once you become more familiar with new friends.

Daycare Overview

Your dog can be dropped off at the Cape Cod Pet Resort between 7:00 – 9:30 a.m. and picked up between 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.  (If you need an earlier drop off or later pick up, please ask about options).  Your dog’s day will consist of supervised play on agility equipment, jumping in and out of cool pools of water (during warm weather), or just running around with friends and playing with our staff.

Our daycare facility offers 1200 square feet of indoor space and 1500 square feet of outdoor space.  The indoor area is equipped with ¾” Tenderfoot flooring for cushioning your dogs playing.

Your Dog’s First Day

Your dog needs to be dropped off first thing in the morning to reduce stress meeting the other dogs. In the afternoon, we ask that new dogs are the first ones to be picked up (to reduce the stress of seeing other dogs leave first), between 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Before your dog comes to play:
In order for your dog to come to daycare, these steps need to be completed. We accept all friendly dogs but due to insurance purposes we cannot accept Pitballs, American and English Staffordshire Terriers, Cane Corsos and Presa Canarios.  When your dog is approved for daycare, we can set a start date.

Other Basic Requirements:

Age:  3 months or older
Sex:  Spayed/neutered if over 6 month of age
Shots:  Bordatella (kennel cough), DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvovirus) and rabies vaccines.
Health:  Fecal tests are required every 6 months for daycare.
Behavior:  All dogs must be non-aggressive towards dogs and humans.
Days and hours:  See Contact Us page for hours of operation.

Screening process

All dogs must pass a temperament test to assure that they are both dog and people-friendly. There is no charge for this assessment.  It is important for the health and safety of all concerned that the dogs attending daycare do not have aggressive tendencies, be food or toy possessive or be overly protective of territory.
